“Not Everyone Understands the Calling — and That’s Okay”

By Charlene Perez Jewett

People called me reckless.

They watched me travel from country to country, job to job, city to city—some shook their heads, some laughed, others called it failure. What they didn’t see was what God was doing in me.

From the outside, it looked scattered. But inside, it was strategic. Spirit-led. Neurodivergent, yes—but also anointed. I was building something bigger than myself: a life filled with purpose, healing, creativity, and calling. And every step I took was led by Jesus.

You see, I’ve always spoken boldly. I move with clarity and conviction. I speak truth directly and passionately, because when the Spirit moves me, I don’t hold back.

But not everyone is ready for that kind of honesty.

Not everyone is used to someone with a pure heart.

It scares them.

My gifts are often misunderstood.

Some people only want surface-level healing. They’re not ready for someone to speak to the soul. I’ve had to learn that—not everyone wants to be well.

And that’s okay.

What’s not okay is when the world tries to shame or silence those of us who do walk in truth.

When people become envious, or bitter, or even cruel because your light reminds them of the healing they haven’t yet received. I’ve had to part ways with many.

Not because I didn’t love them—but because my mission requires focus, and I won’t dim the light God gave me.

Every city, every flight, every late-night job, every door slammed in my face, every person I helped who walked away without gratitude—it all molded me into who I am today.

A world traveler, yes. But more importantly, a vessel of healing, a woman of faith, and a servant of Christ.

Now I stand here, still moving forward, still building:

✨ Shanti Peace will be releasing new pieces soon—jewelry inspired by stillness, strength, and Spirit.

✨ Modality Life Practice is preparing to offer therapy, deeper support for mental health, and a safe space for soul work.

✨ And I will continue breaking the stigma around neurodivergence, especially in communities where silence and shame have ruled for too long.

So, if you’ve ever felt judged for doing life differently…

If you’ve ever been told your gifts are “too much”…

If your pure heart has been used, overlooked, or mocked…

I see you.

Jesus sees you.

And I promise—there is purpose in the way you were made.

Never judge. That’s not nice.

Instead, hold space.

And when you see someone walking boldly in their calling, don’t frown—learn.

With fierce love and Spirit-led truth,

Charlene
