🧠 Please Note: Mental Health & Trauma Disclaimer 🧠

At Modality Life Practice, we are committed to creating a space of safety, healing, and growth. As a wellness studio offering movement, reflection, and faith-inspired practices, we recognize that trauma may show up in many forms—emotional, physical, or spiritual. This disclaimer outlines the boundaries of our services and how we care for your well-being in a trauma-informed way.

🔸 Content and Emotional Safety

Our offerings—whether movement-based, meditative, or reflective—may invite emotional responses. You may encounter material or movement that activates past trauma, grief, or discomfort. This is a normal part of many healing journeys.

You are always encouraged to:

  • Pause

  • Modify

  • Opt out
as needed to honor your personal boundaries and nervous system.

🔸 Voluntary Participation

Your participation in any class, session, journaling prompt, group share, or prayer is entirely voluntary. You are not required to engage in anything that feels unsafe, out of alignment, or emotionally overwhelming.

🔸 Scope of Practice

Modality Life Practice is a wellness studio, not a licensed mental health clinic or crisis center. Our classes, services, and discussions are designed for general wellness and are not a substitute for psychotherapy, psychiatric care, or emergency support.

If you are experiencing flashbacks, dissociation, suicidal thoughts, or other trauma symptoms, please consult a licensed mental health provider.

🔸 Support & Referrals

Our team is trained to hold space with compassion and sensitivity, but we do not provide trauma therapy unless a licensed clinician is clearly identified. If at any point you require specialized support, we are happy to provide referrals to licensed professionals in the community.

🔸 Confidentiality and Boundaries

While we honor vulnerability, group settings are not confidential environments. You are never required to share personal experiences. If you choose to do so, please understand that Modality cannot guarantee privacy in a group format. We do not censor our studio group conversations for triggers.

🔸 Faith-Inspired Environment

Some classes, journaling prompts, or affirmations may include Scripture or faith-based language. These elements are never forced and are offered with respect to all beliefs. You are always free to pass or step away from anything that doesn’t serve your healing.

🔸 Crisis and Emergency Protocol

If you are in crisis or experiencing a psychological emergency, please do not rely on Modality services. Call 911, the National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988, or contact your therapist or physician immediately.

🔸 Consent to Proceed

By engaging in any service at Modality Life Practice, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are responsible for your own well-being and choices.

  • You understand the nature of the services offered.

  • You have read and accept the limitations outlined in this disclaimer.

We are here to support you as you grow, not to push or trigger you.

You are the expert of your experience.

  • We cannot guarantee a trigger-free environment.

  • We will not censor instructors’ normal cues or communication styles within the professional scope.

  • We maintain boundaries and expect mutual respect.
