Modality Pilates Teacher Training Is Coming

Modality Pilates Teacher Training Is Coming

There is something special about going from being the person taking the class to becoming the person leading the room.

At Modality, we have watched women walk through our doors wanting to feel stronger, move better, reconnect with their bodies, and simply have a space to breathe. Over time, some discover something else: they want to teach.

That’s why I’m excited to announce that our next Modality Pilates Teacher Training is coming up.

More Than Learning Exercises

When I created Modality, I never wanted it to feel like a big, intimidating fitness environment.

Our approach to Pilates is contemporary, welcoming, personal, and adaptable to real bodies. We combine different methods and equipment—including mat, wall, chair, reformer, stretching, mobility, and mindful movement—to create an experience that meets people where they are.

Our teacher training will reflect that same philosophy.

You won’t simply memorize a list of Pilates exercises. You’ll learn how to understand movement, confidently lead a class, give modifications, create intentional sequences, use different pieces of equipment, and develop your own presence as an instructor.

Because knowing Pilates and knowing how to teach Pilates are two different things.

You Don’t Have to Look Like a “Pilates Instructor”

One thing I really want women to understand is that there is no one Pilates body.

You don’t have to be the most flexible person in the room. You don’t have to be a certain size or age. You don’t need years of fitness experience before deciding you want to learn.

Some of the best teachers are people who understand what it feels like to start from the beginning.

At Modality, we want instructors who can connect with real people—with different bodies, abilities, personalities, and reasons for showing up.

Learn the Modality Method

Our training will introduce future instructors to the approach we use inside the Modality studio, including:

• Pilates fundamentals and proper form
• Mat-based Pilates
• Pilates wall exercises
• Reformer integration
• Pilates chair exercises
• Stretching and mobility techniques
• Class sequencing and programming
• Modifications for different ability levels
• Cueing and instructor communication
• Creating a welcoming class environment
• Building confidence in front of a room
• The business and professional side of becoming an instructor

Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to practice teaching, because confidence doesn’t come from reading a manual—it comes from actually doing the work.

Maybe This Is Your Next Chapter

I’ve learned throughout my own life that sometimes we don’t know where something will lead when we first begin.

You may take teacher training because you want to deepen your own Pilates practice. You may want a part-time opportunity doing something you enjoy. You may dream of eventually teaching full-time or creating something of your own.

Whatever brings you through the door, this training can be the beginning of something new.

And if you’ve been sitting in class thinking, I would love to teach someday, maybe “someday” is getting a little closer. 🤎
