“Prayer Is Personal” — Understanding Spiritual Boundaries at Modality Life Practice
✨ “Prayer Is Personal” — Understanding Spiritual Boundaries at Modality Life Practice
At Modality, we believe that prayer is sacred — a deeply personal conversation between you and God. Over time, as the Holy Spirit has filled me with understanding, I’ve come to recognize that not every act done in the name of prayer aligns with God’s order or intention.
Throughout Scripture, the laying on of hands was never a casual gesture. It was reserved for very specific moments — moments of ordination, blessing, healing, or the imparting of the Holy Spirit, and always through individuals who were spiritually appointed and led by God.
“Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.” – Acts 8:17
“Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands.” – 1 Timothy 5:22
These verses remind us that physical touch in prayer carries spiritual weight. It was never meant to be done by just anyone, or without discernment. God designed prayer to be pure, honest, and from the heart — not a performance, not a display of control, and never an act of spiritual dominance.
🕊️ Why We Protect Our Prayer Space
Sadly, in today’s world, there are many who mix spiritual practices that are not of God with the language of faith. The Bible warns us to “test every spirit” (1 John 4:1), because not every person who uses spiritual language has pure intentions.
Many Christians today are targeted by those who disguise control or manipulation as compassion. Some come offering to “pray over” or “lay hands” — but beneath those words can lie mixed intentions or energies that don’t belong in sacred fellowship.
At Modality, our mission is full disclosure and spiritual integrity. Our faith-based classes — such as Pray Pilates — are always optional, gentle, and focused on silent prayer and gospel music. There is no touching, no laying on of hands, and no group prayers without consent.
Our space is a refuge for rest, healing, and renewal in truth — not a place for occult practices or spiritual confusion.
🤍 This Is Not a Church
Modality Life Practice is not a church. We do not teach, preach, or tell you how to worship.
Where you go to church on Sundays is your personal choice. What Bible verses you study, what denomination you belong to, or how you connect with God — all of that is sacred to you.
We ask that you respect others’ beliefs and worship styles. If someone already has their own church or way of worshiping, please don’t try to recruit them to attend yours. Our community is about acceptance, not conversion. We are here to nurture peace, not to influence anyone spiritually.
✋ Respecting Autonomy in Prayer
We deeply respect the autonomy of every client and believer who walks through our doors. That’s why we ask that before holding hands, praying aloud, or offering to “pray over” someone, we always ask permission.
For some, “Please don’t pray for me” isn’t rejection — it’s spiritual protection. True prayer never violates free will. It honors boundaries, allowing the Holy Spirit to lead naturally and peacefully.
If someone asks you not to pray for them and you continue to push that boundary, you will be politely asked to leave. This policy is not about judgment — it’s about preserving peace, respect, and the sacred safety of our community.
💖 Our Commitment
At Modality Life Practice, we are committed to creating an environment that honors faith while respecting individuality. Whether you choose to participate in Pray Pilates or simply enjoy the serenity of movement and gospel music, our goal is to help you connect with God safely, peacefully, and authentically — in your own way, and in your own time.
“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” – 2 Corinthians 3:17
