Neurodivergent & Called To Shine
Neurodivergent & Called To Shine
by Charlene — Founder of Modality Life Practice
People often respond in a strange way when I say I’m neurodivergent.
They say things like,
“oh no you’re not!”
as if they’re complimenting me.
As if being neurodivergent is a flaw…
a weakness…
something to be embarrassed about.
But my neurodivergence is one of my superpowers from God.
I don’t think the world actually understands what it means.
People assume it means someone is “less than” or “not smart.” I’ve been told it’s a demon or worst a mental illness. Simply false information. Stereotypes are harmful towards people with neurodivergence.
Meanwhile — I am a full-time graduate student, I am on honor roll, I was top three in my classes in high school, I’m in post-graduate clinical training, I’m running a business alone, I design everything, I teach, I strategize, I do accounting, taxes, sales, marketing, newsletters, videography, filming, photography, website building, updating, graphics, programs… all of it.
Every IG post you see…
every reel…
every flyer…
every class taught…
every idea built from scratch…
It’s me.
There is no team behind Modality.
It is literally just me — with God — and a brain that runs lightning fast.
So no… neurodivergent doesn’t mean “not capable.”
For me it means:
hyper-capable
It means I can hold a lot of information in my mind at once.
It means I make connections others don’t see yet.
It means my brain is always creating, innovating, organizing, refining.
I don’t brag about this.
In fact most of the time I stay quiet about it because I care more about what GOD thinks than applause from people.
But God has been calling me to share now.
Because people don’t know what they don’t know.
The shy quiet girl with her head down — actually has solutions, data, vision, strategy, and a level of drive most don’t understand.
My neurodivergence is one of the reasons Modality even exists.
It’s how I’m able to grind, create, study, research, serve, and build all at once.
And if someone looks at me — at the life I’ve built — the results, the systems, the consistency — and still thinks neurodivergent = “less than”…
…they don’t understand the definition.
Neurodivergence isn’t a defect. In fact many of us possess super human abilities like telepathy and the ability to see and feel things others don’t. Being able to tap into the other side…
For many of us — it is a God-wired advantage.
If you’re neurodivergent — don’t shrink, don’t apologize, and don’t let anyone silence your gifts.
Let your light shine.
The world needs the way your brain works.
Modality is proof.
